The River Medway in Kent is the newest canoe trip we offer and became a new favourite over night! Having a day long adventure in a Kayak is the perfect way to explore Kent and the beautiful Medway Valley. As the river carves through its rural setting you soon get taken into the middle of nowhere, surrounded by orchards, fields, and woodland. As we explore further along this stunning river towards Tonbridge we come across over hanging willow trees and discover Herons and even Water Voles, but our favourite is the number of Kingfishers we see. On a recent trip a Kingfisher followed us for several miles, almost as interested in us as we were in him.

Who it's for?

The river Medway is calm and peaceful so this canoe river trip is suitable for everyone, although as we'll be out on the water for most of the day it's not recommended for under 16's. You need no previous experience, just a healthy sense of adventure and a reasonable level of fitness. This trip, like our Arun trip is all about what you want to do, relaxing or sprinting, there are no fixed points to stop or turn around; we go as quickly or as slowly as you choose covering 2 or 22 miles. It's ideal for a group looking for a day out, with a different view of Kent.

What you'll need?

We'll supply all the equipment you require (except personal clothing). Bring along a wet suit or warm layers to paddle in, fleece material and wool are best. We will be on the water for most of the day so a bottle of drink and some lunch as well as a snack will be needed. Sun cream if it's a hot day.

Timings:

All our River Medway kayak trips start at 10:00 (Unless otherwise stated). The length of each trip can be adjusted to suit the group's requirements but we aim to be on the water for approximately 6 - 7hrs.
Please Note: A minimum of three people are required to run this trip. If less than three people are booked on to the trip it will be cancelled with at least 48 hours notice. The one or two people booked onto the trip will receive a full refund.
