BC Paddle Discover Award
BC Paddle Discover Award
British Canoeing is the governing body of paddle sports in the UK.
We offer a range of British Canoeing national awards. The course follows a structured outline and can cover a range of paddle craft, skills and theory. If you think you would prefer a more informal course built around you, our private coaching or Introduction to kayaking course could be just what you are after. Each star award is a pre-requisite for entry to the next.
If you are unsure about what course is best for you, please feel free to contact us. If you have already completed a British Canoeing Discover Award (formerly 1 Star) why not look at the next step and attend our British Canoeing Explore Award.
This is a nationally recognised award which is delivered over a 1 day course (6 hours). Designed as an introduction to paddlesport (kayak, canoe or a sit-on-top) for beginners. During the course we'll cover all the fundamental skills of paddling. Designed to leave you feeling safe, confident and competent and able to get more from your time on the water. The emphasis of the course is on learning correct safe practice and enjoyment.
